An Initiative for Human Resource Professionals
Primary Audience: Business leaders, employers, HR professionals, managers/supervisors, disability service providers, vocational rehabilitation professionals, ADA Coordinators, people with disabilities, public sector professionals.
Initiative Goal: The goal of this activity is to engage Human Resources professionals in establishing a supportive community infrastructure for recruiting, hiring, and integrating Veterans and Wounded Warriors into their workplaces. The program will review DOL and VA employment initiatives, showcase success stories, and provide information on local Veterans' support groups. This initiative will assist HR professionals with including a proven and trusted element into their company's talent pipeline while serving to extend a timely and relevant aspect to diversity and inclusion. TAX BENEFITS OF RECENT LEGISLATION WILL BE EXPLAINED.

This initiative is hosted by Eric Eaton, STAHR Diversity Chair. Eric has had a 25-plus year career with BAE Systems in Johnson City, New York. He joined BAE Systems legacy company RCA after serving in the U.S. Army as an Electronic Warfare/Signals Intelligence Analyst. Eric has led a diverse team of Software Quality engineers and is a coach and recruiter for his company’s Leadership Development Program. Eric holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Computer Science from Franklin Pierce College and a Master’s of Science in Human Resources Administration from the University of Scranton. Eric’s studies at the University of Scranton centered on diversity, disability, and training.
Initiative presenters will include:

· Jim O’Shea – Maines Paper and Food, Tom Crowley-Crowley Fabricating - Veteran’s Success Stories
· Southern Tier Veterans Support Group (STVSG)
· Binghamton Vet Center
This program has been approved for 1.5 recertification credit hours toward PHR and SPHR recertification through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI). Eligible requesting attendees will receive the certificate of attendance and program code number at the conclusion of the session.
