Flying McLeods’ 2012 Worktrip Schedule

31 March – 1 April – this will be a two-day trip to bring to substantial completion the Appalachian Trail Relocation over Little Calf Mountain.  We will spend the night at the Schairer Trail Center.

The rest of the worktrip dates are location to be determined.  We will work on the AT and on side trails in the South District of Shenandoah National Park.  I’m also listing some of the events that our Southern Shenandoah Valley Chapter will be taking part in. If you are a new PATC member or just want to learn more, come see us at Earth Day or Riverfest.

14 April – Earth Day Staunton 9:00AM – Noon in the Wharf area of downtown Staunton

15 April – Sunday – worktrip

28 April – Riverfest, Waynesboro 10:30AM – 4:00PM in the riverside park in Waynesboro

12 May – Saturday – Worktrip

16 June – Saturday – worktrip

In July, we may have to take a zero as Betty and I will be traveling to the White Mountains so Betty can attend a Trail to Every Classroom workshop.  Oh, well.

11 August – Saturday – worktrtip

15 September – Saturday – worktrip

13 October – Saturday – worktrip

Our worktrips usually meet at 9:00AM at a parking area near the project site.  Tools and safety gear are provided.  Bring lunch, snacks, water and a willing heart.
