The Executive Committee of the Senate and the Deans Council held a joint retreat on Shared Governance on August 11, 2009. The unprecedented fiscal crisis of California and its impact on the CSU will require transformational change in the University in order to continue to fulfill its mission in the new environment. The required changes will put significant pressure on the institution's governance and organization. The purporse of the retreat was to develop shared understandings of governance in SSU as a stronger foundation for trust, collaboration, and institutional effectiveness in the difficult times ahead.
