Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, Saad Shaikh is a practicing physician and retinal specialist in Orlando, Florida. He is an associate professor and member of the teaching faculty in the new school of medicine at the University of Central Florida (Orlando) and is also an assistant professor and teaches at the University of South Florida, College of Medicine and at teh Florida State College of Medicine. He grew up in California where he attended UCLA for his undergraduate studies and UC Davis for medical school . He completed an internship in internal medicine at UC Irvine and then his ophthalmic surgical training at Stanford. He pursued additional training in vitreous and retinal diseases at the William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.
