Right now we don't have much in the way of support but play your cards right and provide me with some good intel and I will get you the support your need to complete your mission and take was is rightfully ours.Never forget that is planet vital that we take this planet back at all costs. Now get your gear together and move out! The X-CamThe purpose of the X-cam, or Expansion Campaign, is to give structure to a series of games within your gaming group with minimal paperwork or maps. The idea is your combat team has landed on planet and your objective gain control of a contested area, and must work their way up from early recon missions, through missions of more strategic significance, and finally to massive final battles for control of the planet. Objective:To fulfill the Commanders orders you must undertake missions. Each mission is a game against an opponent or opponents. There are three basic types of missions you will be performing:
Recon points and Strategic points are simply a means to an end. Throughout the X-Cam players will gain and spend these points. You will always be returning to Recon missions to gain back Recon points, and spending those points on Strategic missions to gain Strategic points. These, in turn, are spent on Control missions to gain Control points as well as to improve your situation in lower-priority battles.
Unlike Recon and Strategic points, you don’t spend Control points. Control points increase your rank, give you access to more powerful abilities, and most importantly: The first player to gain 3 Control points will win the X-Cam. If two (or more) players both get to 3 control points within a week of each other, they fight a large scale Grudge Match scenario to break the tie. Choose your SideWhen you sign up for the X-Cam you must select which faction you will serve. If you start playing the X-Cam and find you don’t like your choice, you may change it at any time by starting over. Starting over means that all your Recon, Strategic, and Control points are reset to zero. How you play:
MissionsParticipating in the X-Cam is very simple. Find an opponent and challenge him to a game. Issuing a challenge results in a “Mission.” The type of mission, or challenge, you can issue depends on both your current points (Recon, Strategic, etc) and, in some cases, your opponent’s points. There is no worrying about maps, or game turns, or requirements to battle specific opponents. Just find someone, challenge them to a mission, and play. The following is the list of missions:
| Missions Recon Mission: "The jungle on the planet grows at an alarming rate, get your unit out there and get me some better intel". Reasons to challenge someone or accept a challenge: All players gain Recon points equal to scored VP. Bonus: Winner Receives +5 Recon Points. Mission Info: Cost: Free Opponent: Anyone 2-4 players may participate in a single Recon Mission. Mission Army Points: Default 150ap max of 250ap Attacker/Defender: The Challenger is always the attacker or roll to decide. Recon Scenario Table: If 2 Players, roll 2D6 and consult the table below
If 3-4 players, play the “Recon Patrol” Scenario. Strategic Mission: "You know where the enemy is and what they are planning. Now destroy them!" Reasons to Challenge Someone: Gain Strategic Points equal to scored VP and Recon points equal to VP/2 (Round Up) Winner Bonus: The Challenger receives +5 Strategic Points for winning the game. Reasons to Accept Challenge: Gain Strategic Points equal to scored VP/2 (Round Up) AND Recon points equal to VP/2 (Round Up). Accepting a challenge offers less strategic point potential, but you can gain Strategic Points without spending Recon points. You also pick up some Recon points, so there is little reason to say no. Winner Bonus: The Challenged Player Receives +2 Strategic Points and +3 Recon Points for winning the game. Mission Info: Cost: Challenger pays 15 Recon Points, Defender pays nothing Opponent: Any one other player. Mission Army Points: Default 200 AP max of 300 AP Attacker/Defender: The Challenger is the attacker Multi-player option: More than two players may choose to play a Strategic Mission. Each player pays 10 Recon Points and gains Strategic Points equal to scored VP/2 (round up) and Recon Points equal to scored VP. The mission in this situation will always be Domination. Strategic Scenario Table: If 2 Players, roll 2D6 and consult the table below
If 3-4 players, play the “Domination” Scenario. "Its time seize control of this planet, we have good recon on the area and are not in a solid strategic position to strike. Lets end this once and for all." Reasons to Challenge someone: If you, the Challenger, win you gain 1 Control point! This is the ONLY way to get Control points. A “Win” is defined by the scenario. Reasons to Accept Challenge: You, as defender, gain 1 Strategic Point for EACH VP you score in the mission. Accepting a Control challenge is the fastest way to earn Strategic Points without spending recon points. Mission Info: Cost: Challenger pays 25 Strategic Points, Defender pays nothing Opponent: Any one other player with at least 20 Strategic Points or at least 1 Control Point. Mission Army Points: Default of 300ap max of 500ap Attacker/Defender: Challenger is attacker Control Scenario Table: The scenario played is based on the Challenger’s current Control points (CP)
