Culture and Values

This site reviews work on variations in value orientations. These include orientation towards Human nature, Man-nature, Time, and Activity. Our 'eternal verities' get a shake up!

The initial outline was proposed by anthropologists Kluckhohn and Strodtbeck in the early 60s. It was taken up again in the late 80s by researchers concerned with intercultural understanding and organisational culture. The basic concepts were picked up again by Human Resource Development gurus in the early 90s and given some severe twists by anthropologists.

The body of the website is made up of seven short pages. These chart some of the thinking related to culture and values.
