George Washington: "Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master."
Teddy Roosevelt : "In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American....There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag....We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language....And we have room for but one sole loyalty, and that is a loyalty to the American people."
This is "Bolt" (Restoration completed in 2009)
WOW we are finally complete with the "restoration" of this ol' truck. We have tried to keep the spirit alive, so
we certainly hope it looks like a 1952 Chevrolet Pickup Truck (only better - he he).
We did some "slight" modifications like replace the 6 Volt system with a 12 volt system. We upped the cc in
the engine compartment from a 216cc I6 to a 400cc v8, The transmission was changed from the 4 speed with
granny gear to a TH400 automatic. The split rims we updated to steel rims with radial tires. Everything is metal
and yes that is a 9 foot bed. I have her on the road and she drives like a truck.
Michael Rivero: "Most people prefer to believe that their leaders are just and fair, even in the face of evidence to the contrary, because once a citizen acknowledges that the government under which he lives is lying and corrupt, the citizen has to choose what he or she will do about it. To take action in the face of corrupt government entails risks of harm to life and loved ones. To choose to do nothing is to surrender one's self-image of standing for principles. Most people do not have the courage to face that choice. Hence, most propaganda is not designed to fool the critical thinker but only to give moral cowards an excuse not to think at all.''
Woodrow Wilson: "Liberty has never come from the government. Liberty has always come from the subjects of it. The history of liberty is a history of resistance."
James Madison: "I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations. " Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves. ~ William Pitt 18 Nov 1783
Thomas Sowell: What is ominous is the ease with which some people go from saying that they don't like something to saying that the government should forbid it. When you go down that road, don't expect freedom to survive very long.
John Adams: Be not intimidated... nor suffer yourselves to be wheedled out of your liberties by any pretense of politeness, delicacy, or decency. These, as they are often used, are but three different names for hypocrisy, chicanery and cowardice. ~ John Adams
Thomas Jefferson: Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.
Norman Thomas: The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of "liberalism" they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened. Edmunde Burke: The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. |
