Emily

Emily finally came home from her mission in Argentina. She was due home at the end of July, but the week before she left, a volcano blew up in Chile about 100 miles from Bariloches where she was. The plume of ash blew over Bariloches and spread out over Buenos Aires. No planes flew out for the north for weeks. They were able to fly Emily over to Santiago, Chile to fly home about 5 days later.

Since then, she has been at home trying to decide what to do with her life. She worked at a bed and breakfast in Lava Hot Springs until they were no longer getting tourist and at the local market here in Downey. She really wants to move on with her life (interpretation: I want to get out of my parent's house.) She has applied to a number of colleges and is patiently (or not) for the replys. She really would like to go to BYU Provo to be closer to her best friends.

Hermana Bundy and Emily enjoying the volcano. If you click on the photo, you can see the ash in Emily's hair and on Hermana Bundy's name tag.

And that is not snow on the ground, but a layer of ash. When Emily finally got to Buenos Aires, there was 18 inches of ash on the ground in Bariloches. Yuck!
