BJ Dobrkovsky (4th year)

Entering his 5th year at the helm for the Olys, Coach Dobrkovsky is looking for this years team to get back to the top of the Central Valley Conference.  Coach Dobrkovsky recieved his bachelors degree (B.A. Economics, minor in psychology) and masters degree from Willamette University.  At Willamette University Coach Dobrkovsky lettered 4 times in both basketball and baseball.  He was a part of an NWC championship team in both basketball and baseball and also a part of two other playoff teams during his tenure at Willamette.  After graduation, coach Dobrkovsky was an assistant coach for Willamette under the all-time winningest coach in bearcat history Coach Gordie James.  Currently, Coach Dobrkovsky is in his 6th year teaching at Sprague where he teaches math and also is an assistant baseball coach.  He lives in Salem with his lovely wife Aubrey and adorable daughter Bella. 
 
 
 
Mike Wilson (39th year of coaching, 13th year at Sprague '94-'05, current)

Coach Wilson returns for another season at Sprague High School.  Coach Wilson has taught for 33 years and has coached for 28 of thoese years, including 12 years at Sprague.  Coach Wilson brings a wealth of knowledge to the bench and also a competitive toughness that will be contagious throughout the program.  Coach Wilson currently teaches math at Salem Academy.  He lives in Salem with his wife Sue.
 
 
 
Juan Rodriguez (2nd year)

Coach Rodriguez returns for another great year as a varsity assistant.  Coach Rodriguez graduated from Western Oregon with his bachelors degree in Biology.  He is now enrolled in Western Oregon's Masters for teaching program and will be student teaching this upcoming year. Coach Rodriguez grew up in Hermiston Oregon before attending Western Oregon.  He has coached AAU and youth basketball the past 4 years and is excited for the opportunity to move to high school ranks.  He lives in Salem with his wife Amanda and their newly born daughter Sofi.  
 
 
Joe Kiser (3rd year)
Head JV Coach/Assistant Varsity Coach
 
Coach Kiser returns to Sprague Hoops program for his second year at the junior varsity level.  Coach Kiser is one of the best young coaches at the high school level you can find.  He does an exceptional job at teaching the fundamentals of the game and motivating the kids to play hard.  He is a graduate of Stayton High School where he was the 2002 Capital Conference Player of the Year and helped to lead the eagles to a Capital Conference Championship.  After High School, Coach Kiser attended Chemeketa Community College where he also played for two years.  Currently, he has finished his bachelor's degree (education) at Western Oregon and is currently enrolled into their teaching program.
 
Jordan Liudahl

Coach Liudahl returns to Sprague Hoops program for his second year.  Coach Liudahl is a graduate of Sprague High School (2002) and a former Sprague Hoopster.  Currently he is attending Chemeketa Community College and hopes to transfer to Willamette University to major in Political Science.  Coach Liudahl lives here in Salem.
 
Harold Shannon (2nd year at Sprague, 21st year coaching)
Head Freshmen Coach/Assistant Varsity Coach
 
Coach Shannon returns for his second year as the head freshmen coach.  Coach Shannon has coached a number of sports:  Head Football Coach, Head Track Coach, JV Head Basketball Coach, and Freshmen Head Basketball Coach in his 19 years of teaching.  He has taught in a few different locations beginning with Mollala High School and then moving to Santiam High School before beginning here at Sprague.  Coach Shannon lives here in Salem. 
 
 
Chad Smith (2nd year)

Coach Smith is back for his second year in the basketball program where in the fall he will also coach the Defensive and Offensive line in football at the JV and varsity level.  He is a Sweet Home graduate and after graduation played a year of football at Eastern Oregon.  After that year he made his way to Lane Community College where he finished his associates degree and also coached football at Sheldon High School.  Currently, Coach Smith is attending Western Oregon University and this past summer coached our freshmen summer league, along with coaching the JV football team at Sprague.
