here i will dissect my thoughts and see if I come up with anything useful

this is the first entry to what may or may nor become a regular thing. it depends on how much i can make it work the way i want it to work with the tools google provides. a brief discription would be something kinda like livejournal in the way that i would like to be able to post an entry into some kind fo form field, click on a submit button and it would then post to the blog. of course now that i just wasted 10 seconds typing that out i think the way i can edit this page would work just fine. i would like a comments section though where i could carry on a public conversation with those who wanted to or cared to comment on my posts. that doesn't sound very difficult or technical, but then again scripting/coding html or any other types of code has never really been my forte'. i suppose i could just leave a link to my gmail address handy at the end of each post and i could just copy/paste from my email into a comments section i could set apart for each post. that would be the simple, non-technical way to do it i guess. it wouldn't be much different than the screening process for comments on any other blog site. i don't know, i'm gonna mess around a little more and see what i come up with...

I read a nifty article about the nintendo ds-lite and the apple ipod about which was the better investment. I thought it was good. probably based on the fact that the nintendo won over the ipod. though the article makes a good point about the possible future of the ipod having wireless internet capabilities. i don't see that as a far stretch with the onset of city-wide wifi in so many places now. wouldn't it make sense to be able to access itunes from where ever you are rather than to be anchored to your computer? seems to me it would be a wise choice for apple to cut the pc out of as many of it's markets as possible, but then i guess pc users are the majority of apples market these days aren't they? i mean with the rising number of users owning ipods and using itunes, i'll gaurentee there are more pc users then mac owners that own ipods.
oh boy, i'm excited! the nintendo wii is a mere 4 to 5 months from release. i don't think i'll be able to get one at launch and i'll probably have to wait till after christmas and now that i think about it 3 to 4 months into the new year before I can think about getting one. <sigh> the fact that my wife and myself make a nice 55k/year (here in bremerton, wa that's a comfy living) should allow me to have minor luxuries...such as this x2 4800+ computer i am typing on, the 3.06ghz computer next to me, my gamecube with 45 games, a nice (but old)32 inch tv, my surround sound system, my dvd collection of over 200 movies...hmmm...wait a minute, i'll stop complaining now...lol maybi i'll trade/sell some of my stuff for a wii and some games at launch...i guess i only really need 1 computer...i dunno, we'll see.

last thursday night my bro-in-law came over and we played super street fighter 2 challenge alpha x version 23. i don't think that's the real name of it, i can never remember that, but it's pretty fun. it's the one where akuma makes his 1st appearence. he showed me some things, we looked for the code to unlock akuma without having to meet the games actual requirements. which by the way are quite rediculous. i showed him how to cheese your way through the game using vega's (m. bison in the american games) psycho crusher move so tyou can then fight vega himself with whomever you want. we played that probably for a couple of hours straight. he has a pretty extensive dreamcast collection. i had heard much about the dreamcast game shenmue and shenmue 2, he showed me a bit of those. boy, they look pretty involved. we (well, i think we did anyway) had a good time. i feel a certain kinship with my bro-in-law. i don't know what exactly it is. but when he's hanging out over at my place or vice-versa, it's pretty cool. i guess maybe it's because he's the closest thing i have ever had to a real brother. my own brother has been in and out of jail for as long as i can remember so i never really connected with him at all. christopher and myself share alot of the same interests...he likes making art, i like looking at art, we're both into computers and video games, when we put the jokes aside we both can carry on an intelligent conversation. i dunno, maybe because of the situation with my own real brother i've kinda latched onto christopher for the purposes of filling that space.
the next day, friday, i got up at 8:30am to get my buddy john over to the driver's licencing office so he could get his license back after all these years. lots of tickets and such will get your licese taken away. for a long time. anyway, we get there and he has what's called a 'stand by' appointment. which means if any of the teeny-bopper kids that are getting thier licenses at the same time have a real appointment, they get 1st priority. we ended up hanging out in the parking lot goofing off for about 3 hours. my wife finds it in her heart of hearts to bring us lack in the box. she's a keeper. finally the driving instructor says she'll do john before she has lunch. so john takes and passes his driver's test. my kids have been over at his house with his wife since i had picked him up at about 9am or so. we swing by taco bell on the way back to his place figuring the kids will be hungry (his and mine.) back at his house the kids are indeed hungry and they eat taco's and burrito's. then we get it in our heads that we need to fix up and get working another computer for him and his wife to play city of heroes on. so out we go again. we pick up a 300 watt power supply and a amd sempron64 2700+ processor. i manage a deal of parts for money between john and my other friend jason so we get a case and motherboard and all the other neccissary parts. i assemble everything and when the moment of truth comes and the power is turned on the computer does not blow up. yay! but it doesn't power on either. hmmm...after some checking around i found i had not plugged in the 12-volt power connector to the motherboard from the power supply. i haven't put a computer together in awhile so i guess it's acceptable that i miss a small thing like that. so we get the computer to post but i don't have time to stick around and get all the needed software installed. i had plans to meet my wife in silverdale with the kids to see the new adam sandler movie, click. good movie. very funny and a sad part too. but over all i recommend it to all adam sandler film lovers.
monday, june 26th:
well, it's monday, last day of work and i lucked out and got sent down to the dungeon level of swedish medical center. down here i hang out and chit-chat with recovery nurses and sometimes i take a recovery patient from one recovery area to another. it's still only 7:49am so i have quite awhile to go before enjoying the freedom of my four days off. it's supposed to be hot today, in the lower 90's i guess. i'm not excited about that. i hate the heat. infact if i were able, i would move to the yukon and live with the polar bears in an igloo. i suppose i'd have to have one hell of an extension cable for my computer, though in those temperatures i could do some major overclocking of my proc and video card! lol, well today the girls leave to go to grandma's house in richland, wa. that's in the south-eastern side of the state where it's expected to reach about 101 degrees today. they will be gone for about three weeks. in that three weeks, the wife will be going to cancun mexico for one week. i will be home alone. not sure how i feel about that, i have never much enjoyed being alone. funny, i don't like people to bother me, but i like people to be around me, even if i don't much notice that they are actually there. maybe i like the option to be open for me to interact with people. my family aside of course, i actually like them and tend to talk and interact with them much more than other people. but here i sit in the surgery break room on the computer typing away, and if someone were to sit at the computer next to me and strike up conversation, i would more than likely be annoyed at them. well, i guess that's enough for now as i can't think of much else to talk about.
friday, june 30th:
another weekend has come and gone for me. man they go fast. i saw superman this week, opening day, first showing. i am a huge superman fan. i like superman almost as much as i like batman. and i think i can say without being clouded by my obvious fanboyism, superman was a good movie. it was very much like the original superman from 1978. some people would say too similar, but i thought it was good. they used the same theme music, which i thought was cool, and they did the opening credits in the same style which i thought was a cool nod to the originals. joblo gave it a 7/10 score. pretty good, he is my favorite movie critic and i frequent his website. in other news, the daughters are both gone to eastern washington for a stint with gramma. the wife is gone to eastern washington to visit with her sister for three days whhich leaves me home alone. oh yeah, i just noticed i covered this in my last post...well...moving right along then...hopefully these next three days of work will zoom by fast enough. as the 4th of july is on tuesday this year (my day off) i will be attending the festivities over at my friends' house here in bremerton. there will be many good friends and lots of food and of course lots of blowing stuff up. oh the magic whips will be the highlight of the show for me. me and a buddy last year lit a whole pack of them and there was literally a 3 foot tall flaming tornado caused by the sudden updraft of the super-heated air. needless to say, it was cool. so my buddy's wife finally made it over to the united states from the philliepines. she's nice but a little shy and quiet, but i think she's also feeling a little anxiety from the gigantinc move she just made, but nice enough. she cooked us lumpia so she's a winner in my book! well, it's time to go to bed as I have to wake up for work in less than 6 hours...
monday, july 3rd:
well, another work week has come to a close. hooray! well, tomorrow is the big 4th of july party over at josh's place here in bremerton. looks as though lots of old friends will be making it. mike from bothell, thom from euphrata, adam from lynnwood, and lots more. i'm fairly excited about the whole deal myself. much food will be consumed, much soda will be drank, and many fireworks detonated/exploded/ignited. all in all i expect it shall be a good time. yesterday my wife drove back from eastern washington. she stopped by to say hello to me while I was at work but ended up staying the whole rest of my shift just hanging out with me in our break room chilling with the transporters. we rode the ferry home and pretty much went straight to bed. i was tired from staying up till all hours of the morning the previous night and then working a twelve-hour shift. i did that the first night she was gone as well. apperantly i need someone to tell me when to go to bed or else i will saty up till midnight or so allowing for only four hours of sleep...bleh! so i did that for the first two nights of my work week. the third day the wife home to make sure i was not a dumb ass and stayed up to late and we went to bed as soon as we got home from seattle. i was asleep within five minutes of going to bed. so that leaves me here at work, down in the dungeon level that is day surgery. lucky for me it was pretty dead in here. i think i did all of maybe five orders total today while the people up on the main floors probably worked thier asses off. lol! i love mondays! well, mondays when i'm down in surgery at any rate. well, i gotta go do a bit of work so that's all for now.
saturday, july 8th:
well, i seem to have broken my usual schedule for updating. i was doing good keeping it to every friday and monday. i was gonna update last night when i got home from the movies (more on that in a bit) but i decided i was just too tired. so i went to bed and got a solid four and a half hours of sleep before work today. bleh. At any rate, enough of this and on to the interesting things. starting at the beginning...july 4th was a good one. i have to say it may have been the best 4th i have enjoyed in quite a while. my buddy mike met me on the ferry after work on the 3rd and came to bremerton for the festivities the next day. after staying up late on the night of the 3rd, we finally got up and out of the house around 1pm on the 4th. we got over to josh's house and immediatly the party was on. there was more food than one could shake a stick at, there were already a good number of people there with people arriving steadily for the next few hours. there was food, music, people, and a steady stream of pyrotechnical idiocy. i personally found a new way to enjoy bottle rockets and soda. shoot a lit bottle rocket into a full can of soda and see what happens, it really is quite amusing. as is stuffing slices of watermelon with bottle rockets and lighting them off. bottle rockets have more explosive kick than i previously thought. we must have had over 500 bottle rockets in all. the sad thing is that only a small percentage of them found thier way skyward! lol! of course there were firecrackers and the little cardboard tanks that spew sparks and such, there were sparklers for all the kids present, there were bees, buzzbombs, fountains, saturn missile batteries, and most importantly there were magic whips. the whips were easily the highlight of the evening. when lit in numbers around a dozen or so they produce heat and noise at an incredible rate. so quickly do they super heat the air around them that even 20 feet away you are forced to take a few steps back. these whips literally produced a column of fire whirling like a tornado close to twelve feet high. it was easily the most impressive thing i have ever seen. ever. uhm...ever. as soon as my buddy eric gets the video off of his cell phone, i'll post it. it's truley a sight to behold. anyway, over the course of the evening we lit fireworks, ate some good food, played some video games, and bullshitted.
the rest of the week was fairly uneventful. i played much city of heroes with john and melinda, got mike to buy his own copy of the game, and friday we went to the movies to see pirates of the carribbean. but we didn't actually see piratres of the carribbean. it was sold out everywhere on the kitsap penninsula. fucking rediculous. so we ended up seeing the devil wears pradda. it got a couple of chuckles outta me i'll admit, and ann hathaway is really hot as well. but other those two things, i'd advise passing this one up. the thing that irked me the most about the movie is that there wasn't one single thing even close to resembling a pirate in it (that was a poor attempt at humor.) anyway, after the movie got out, the 10:15pm showing of pirates was about to start. we half contemplated the idea of sneaking in to see it. there wasn't many people waiting in the lobby to see the movie. but we would have looked pretty dumb attempting to sneak into the movie seeing as how there was easily a line of 150 people waiting outside to get in. there were plenty of people waiting, just not in the lobby. they just hadn't started seating for it yet. so we canned that idea and just went home. made it to bed around 11:45pm and woke up and came to work at 4am. here I am it's 5:37pm on saturday and i finally got this updated.
