Cat Care Tips

  • For transporting your cat. Leave your carrier out for several days with the door open or if it is a cat carrier box, lay it on its side - put in a few treats or toys and let the cat go in and out on their own will. A little catnip rubbed on the inside or a product called Pet Remedy or Feliway Pump Mist helps to lessen anxiety. If you cat's visits in the past were filled with anxiety - hissing, growling in the clinic, a sedative is helpful before arriving. Please contact us a few days before your appointment for recommendations.

  • If your cat is overanxious, fractious to examine, please call a few days before his/her visit and we'll dispense a valium-like drug to help lessen your cat's anxiety and make it safer for us in the handling your "nervous" cat. This is a prescription drug and we cannot dispense it unless we have seen your cat previously.
