JUNE 1, 2008: One final bash before the summer! Spodac has been taking it easy to allow Nick some time to recover, but now it's time to have one more show before the summer, and before the band takes a good long rest. APRIL 15, 2008: SHOWS POSTPONED. The two Spodac shows for this weekend have to be postponed due to illness. The show at Swindler's will be arranged for a later date, and Spodac are hoping to feature at the next Listen Up! show, hopefully both in May. Sorry everyone.

MARCH 26, 2008: A few shows in April. Spodac will be playing The Fringe Club on April 18th at the Listen Up! show, and Swindlers in Wanchai on April 19th at Nick's birthday bash. And don't forget about Spring Scream! Go to GIGS or click on the pictures below for more.

MARCH 17, 2008: SPRING SCREAM! Spodac has been chosen to play at the Spring Scream rock festival in Kenting, Taiwan. This will be a huge show, and Spodac are thrilled to be included in the lineup! Click on the image below to go to the Spring Scream website or go to GIGS to read more.

MARCH 6, 2008: HONG KONG'S NUMBER ONE ROCK BAND ON AMP! Spodac is now officially Hong Kong's number one rock band on Channel V's Amp charts. Topped only by electronica-group Snoblind, Spodac has been the highest ranking rock band for a total of four weeks (three consecutive). Thanks for listening to the music - you seem to be enjoying it!

MARCH 6, 2008: The New Indie Music in Hong Kong website has a review of the Spodac show at the Underground. Check it out, we like it - it never hurts to be compared to Foo Fighters.

FEBRUARY 3, 2008: Thanks to all of you who have listened to 'Madam, I'm Adam' on AMP, Spodac is now at number two on the Hong Kong chart on AMP. As a thank you, the entire five-song EP is now available on AMP. Click here to go and enjoy the full Spodac EP!

NOVEMBER 26, 2007: Spodac will be performing at the Y-Rock Jam Festival this Saturday, December 1st. We're hoping to see a lot of people at the show. For more details, go to GIGS.

AUGUST 31, 2007: An anonymous blogger at My Blog really liked Spodac's Underground 46 gig on July 9th, and writes: "Finally we got a chance to enjoy some all-out rock in the shape of Spodac,with their energetic inspired set which really ended the evening on a high!". MAY 5, 2007: While finalizing the recording process, Spodac has been booked for a few gigs this summer. The first one is at the GO powered by the Me? ... We! Movement at the Fringe Club on Friday, May 25th. Spodac will also be playing at the Underground show on Saturday, June 9th. This show will take place at the Cavern in Lan Kwai Fong - a venue Spodac has never played before. This should turn out to be a fantastic night! Check out GIGS to find out more.

DECEMBER 20, 2006: After a very busy show schedule this autumn, Spodac is taking a break from playing gigs for now. Currently, the band is working on some songs in the studio. The plan is to come out with a CD that sounds fantastic. Recording will hopefully be finished in early 2007. Look out for the first Spodac release in the new year! After the great underground success of Gravity at mp3.com.hk and apparently being played on Triple J's Unearthed show in Australia (unsubstantiated rumors that can't be confirmed), look forward to great things from a full Spodac release!

DECEMBER 9, 2006: Channel V has launched their AMP (Asian Music Platform) site, and as always, Spodac is where it's all happening. Go to Spodac's AMP page and listen to Gravity to make it hit at least the Hong Kong chart. Who knows, maybe it'll feature on the main AMP chart, as well.

NOVEMBER 22, 2006: Spodac to play HK Live! Spodac will be playing at the Fringe Club in the monthly live show organized by HK Magazine. Check out GIGS for more details.

NOVEMBER 2, 2006: Spodac in the print. Two articles about the World Battle of the Bands final appear in the Hong Kong press. On Thursday, October 26, South China Morning Post ran a preview of the final. If you can't get your hands on the issue, read the article on the World Battle of the Bands website. A new magazine, Taxi, has an article about World Battle of the Bands, which includes a Spodac interview. You can pick up the magazine for free wherever you can find HK Magazine. Taxi looks like this:

OCTOBER 23, 2006: Spodac on ATV World! Spodac featured on ATV World's "Inside Story" on Hong Kongs's independent music scene on October 10th. Spodac opened the documentary with a great version of "Nowhere to Now Here" and also played "Mr. Gorsky" in the feature. To watch Spodac in the show, please go to MEDIA. If you would like to watch the entire show, go to the ATV World website, click on "Inside Story" and then select "2006-10-10 Part 1". You will need a Windows PC with Windows Media Player to watch the show.

SEPTEMBER 23, 2006: Spodac in the Hong Kong final! Spodac has moved on to the Hong Kong national final of the World Battle of the Bands. This is the four top bands in the competition duking it out to see who is the Hong Kong winner of the battle. The final takes place on Friday, October 27 at the EDGE. Before that, Spodac will be performing at the Fringe Club on Friday, September 29. Check out GIGS for more details.

SEPTEMBER 21, 2006: 'Gravity' goes to number one! 'Gravity' by Spodac is the number one most listened to rock song on mp3.com.hk. Go to the site now and listen to the song to keep it there!

SEPTEMBER 8, 2006: Spodac continues victoriously in the World Battle of the Bands semi finals, and moves on to the EDGE finals. Performing on Thursday, September 21, Spodac will once again put together a great show, come and check it out! Before the Battle of the Bands finals, there is also a performance at CIS on September 18, and afterwards, Rockit auditions on September 22. Go to GIGS to get more details.

SEPTEMBER 4, 2006: On to the semis! Spodac has progressed to the next round of the World Battle of the Bands, after an interesting judging decision. We had a great time last Thursday night, which was in no small part due to the great crowd that showed up to support us. Seriously, how many bands get an encore at Battle of the Bands!? You guys were awesome. We know some of you won't be up for it two weeks in a row, but do come and support us at the semi finals this Thursday, September 7, at the EDGE. AUGUST 21, 2006: Spodac returns from the summer holidays with a bang! The band will be playing three gigs in the next month while preparing to do more recording. The gigs are at the EDGE for the World Battle of the Bands heats on August 31, at Schooner's Pub in the Link Star Music Band Show on September 3, and at Amnesia in their Rockit audition on September 22. JUNE 20, 2006: First professionally recorded Spodac song 'Gravity' is now finally available on the web. Check it out in MUSIC or on our MySpace site!

JUNE 20, 2006: Spodac will be joining the World Battle of the Bands in the Hong Kong heats. The performance will take place in the first weekend of September in one of the following venues: EDGE, Cavern or M1. Come back to the site later for updates!

APRIL 18, 2006: There are some great photos from our Les Visages gig on the Underground website. Apparently, we were so good that Nick, the reviewer spilled his beer on his notes because he was having so much fun. Read the review here and rock on!

APRIL 5, 2006: The first Spodac bootleg found! Someone has filmed our gig at the EDGE in January and felt it was okay to post it on the Internet. View the video at http://www.local-family.com/ before it's taken down!

APRIL 2, 2006: Two video clips and a bunch of photos are available in MEDIA. These are from the great Underground gig at Les Visages on March 30th.

MAY 22, 2005: Spodac is looking for a guitarist to replace Steve who is leaving Hong Kong in June. The prospective guitarist would play rhythm and lead guitar, should have a strong interest in songwriting, and could be inspired by people such as Robert Johnson, Eddie Van Halen, The Edge or Dimebag Darrell.

MAY 6, 2005: Spodac is playing live at a private party at the Venue in Wanchai on May 21st. Although this is a private occasion, Spodac fans will get in by showing the word 'Spodac' written on their right hand with a black marker. See you there!
