What is a typical day at SPNS?
Our mornings begin with a free play period where children are free to choose from areas and activities around the classroom. Our teachers plan activities and rotate equipment to ensure your child is developing a variety of skills. Our early childhood classrooms contain an art area with easels, reading corner, family play corner, block area, water/sand table, riding vehicles and climbers, and a table for puzzles and manipulatives. After clean-up time, we gather for singing, class discussions, bathroom, and snack. Next comes circle time, with stories and music. There is a large block of time each morning for active play on our child-friendly play yard, or upstairs in our large, equipped gym. We end most mornings with table time, where play activities and games emphasize small motor and readiness skills.
