Splenda Story 1012

Leg Pain, Hip Pain, Back Pain

I loved using Splenda but I too had problems. the pain in my hips and legs was so bad I had trouble walking.  I thought I had arthritis.  After all the tests with normal results I'm sure the doctors thought I was faking to get pain pills.  The pains were constant but also sharp shooting pain too.  To make a long story short I am now pain-free and Splenda-free.

My husband had the same problem but his was back pain.  He just tried Splenda again, and his back pain returned and lasted about three days.
I was only using about 3 to 6 packets per day.  Never again.

[Shortly afterwards we received a longer account from JM.]

Thank you.  I am glad to share my experience.  It took me four years of pain and difficulty walking to figure it out.  I am only in my 30's and have two very young children.  I was afraid I was doomed to walk as an old lady for the rest of my life.

Yesterday, when I walked my son to school we jumped off the curb, and I remembered the years when pain would have made that impossible for me.  I never would have guessed it was the Splenda packets I put in my morning coffee and evening tea or hot chocolate that was the cause.  I never used any of the other multiple products out there that contain Splenda.

I am now a normal weight.  I was never too heavy but I lost five pound after I went back to plain sugar.  I can't say if the few extra pounds were caused by Splenda, decreased activity because of the leg and hip pain due to Splenda, or the depression over not being able to run or jump anymore.  Even walking I avoided if I could because of the pain.

I should add that the pain did not start immediatly when I switched to Splenda.  If it had I might have added 2 plus 2 sooner.  If I recall, it took about a year before the pain began.  I hope someone who has the same problem sees my story and is able to figure out the cause in a shorter time than it took me.
