Splenda Story 1011

Eczema

Hello from Wales, UK.

I started dieting in October 2008 and since that time have lost 35 pounds.  From nil use of Splenda or any other sweetener, gradually my usage of
Splenda increased.  As it did so the mild eczema that occasionally appeared in my palms went from bad to worse.  Not realising, I devised more and more recipes with Splenda -- custard tarts, cheesecake, pannacotta, etc. -- and starting putting it in my porridge (oatmeal).  I noticed that I needed to put more and more in to get the same effect.

Five trips to the doctor have drawn a blank, and the steroid creams prescribed have caused further skin damage and did not work.

Talking to a friend, I heard of the health damage thought to be caused by Splenda and have stopped taking it -- obviously!  I found the website The Truth about Splenda and your blog with all the information about skin rashes.

My hands are disabled.  I can't drive and have to wear gloves in public.  They are red and inflamed and the skin cannot heal.  Layers and layers of new skin forms but then breaks up painfully.

I broke my ankle last year and had two operations and metalwork fitted -- THIS IS FAR WORSE!

I am so relieved that the end is in sight and look forward to it clearing from my system.

Best wishes to you all over there!
