Captain's CornerThis is the area you'll find reports on the various matches played and other comments that the Captain's wish to make. The captains for the 2011 season are Pat Perry for the ladies and Alan Clarke for the gents, and the vice captains are Barry Holmes and Kath Brown. The page is well worth a visit if you want to see how we're progressing in our various matches, and the results are posted on the Fixtures & Results page. Away MatchesTravel to away matches is normally arranged between groups of participating
members and an informal agreement exists that any member providing the
transport should be compensated at the rate of £2 per passenger towards
fuel + insurance costs. Visitor FeesVisitors wishing to play on the club green are welcome but please ensure that they sign the visitor's book (available in the club house), and that the playing fee of £3.00 per day is collected and passed to our membership secretary. Visitors playing during the normal club afternoon and evening sessions will be expected to play in the team they are picked for at that time. Any member wishing to play outside the normal club sessions may do so, but will require a key to gain access to the clubhouse facilities - see Sue Bates for a set of keys. League PlayWe play on a daily basis amongst ourselves, drawing names out of a hat so to speak on the day and compete internally amongst ourselves for various cups as detailed on the Fixtures List. We also play a number of other clubs in the area on a friendly, non-league basis. We don't however play in any leagues, so if you're looking for that type of club then we aren't for you, so you might like to visit the Staffordshire County Bowling Association Site for a list of other clubs that might be more suitable for your requirements. © Alan Wiseman
