How Spiritual Food CSA has grown since 1998:

 ·       From 26 to 150 share memberships representing almost 200 families including those with half shares

·       From half year, to two seasons, to full year, and now it’s either/or half or whole year. 

·       From 1 location to 2, 3,4,5 and now stabilized at 4

·       From all volunteer (even weekly drives to the farm) to staff of 4: (1) Manager, (2) Transportation (3) Local deliveries and set up assistance (4) intern assistant;

still with MANY volunteers helping

·       Core volunteers who are not even members come weekly

·       From one vegetable farm with a few Biodynamic supplements to now working with an array of biodynamic and organic providers:

                                                 i.      9 farms for staples: vegetables, eggs, bread yogurt

                                              ii.      9 farms for fruit, fresh and dried

                                           iii.      4 “processors” (e.g. bakery, cheese makers)

                                            iv.      3 “distributors” (2 are organic farmers cooperatives)

·       average 70% renewal rate

·       average 80% members volunteer

·       Active online (yahoo) group for exchanging shares, recipes and news

·       special orders for extra food
