I have always been fascinated by weather! I particularly love clouds. This page contains some photos that I have captured of Mother Nature "showing off!" (click on the images to enlarge them)  A hot July afternoon with building cumulus clouds. This photo was taken from my back door.  This was taken at Cades Cove inside the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. The low clouds are hiding the 6,000 foot mountain behind it.  A look west down the beach towards Destin as a storm gathers. This is also 3 diferent photos that I "stitched " together.  Destin in the distance with thunderheads building overhead.  The Capital Building in downtown Nashville with a storm brewing above it.  Just a view across the lake from my back door on the first day of Fall 2009. |  My wife yelled at me to get my camera when she saw this cloud formation! She thought it was the second coming.....:-)  This is a series of 3 pictures that I "stitched" together to show an approaching storm.  A picture I took of the launch of STS-125...the shuttle on it's way to the International Space Station. I loved how the shuttle just "punched" it's way through the different cloud levels during it's ascent.  A photo taken from the back deck of our beach home we rented near Destin in Florida.  We live right on Old Hickory Lake. This is another beautiful summer sunset!  This photo was taken right after a pretty wicked thunderstorm moved through our area in April.
