Drum & Bass Night

posted 17 Apr 2012 06:08 by Dan Bladen   [ updated 17 Apr 2012 06:25 ]

Last night we had the privilege of hosting Henry Marsden & Tim Cooke (HTB/WorshipCentral) for an evening focussing solely on Drum & Bass.

The two instrument groups split off to talk more specifically about their trade and work on a few new songs together. We then all joined together and put it to practice.

We also spent sometime talking about ways we can improve your experience on Sundays. One suggestion was to have the lectern mic in everyone's monitor mix to ensure that people know what's going on in ministry times etc. We also touched on refreshing the job role sheets for each instrument and need your input.

Hopefully it was a constructive evening and we all took something from it.
We'd love to get more of your feedback, what might help you etc. Please do let us know any of your ideas

New Wine Worship at SPH // Report

posted 4 Oct 2011 06:22 by James Tomba   [ updated 8 Feb 2012 06:59 by Dan Bladen ]

We had a great day at the start of February gathering over 350 worshippers and worship teams together at St Paul's Hammersmith for the first New Wine Worship Conference in London.

There were so many highlights it's hard to pick out one or two. Perhaps what echoes on into my mind even today, were the following: Firstly, the hunger and openness of the worshippers who had come. People want more. More of God. More of His Spirit and the freedom that getting closer to Jesus brings. Secondly, the image of one particular worship team huddled together at the end of the day just to pray for each other and their church. The power of unity around vision, of agreeing around heart's orientation. Of being in it together, for a higher purpose.

Prophetic words came too throughout the day. The main thrust seemed to be about the explosive power of  worship to affect every day real circumstance. It was awesome to then have Neil Bennetts from Trinity Cheltenham get up and speak on this in the final session: the impact of sung worship on the kingdom growing and advancing. Absolutely right.  Sing to bring change. Sing to resist. Sing to advance. Sing into being reality.

It was so thrilling in the afternoon to see most of the seminars full up with people learning and growing together. Two unusual spaces also proved popular: an encounter room - open all day - where people could just come and enjoy God's presence, be still and hear from Him; and a 'talking heads' room - 4 x 5 minute video talks from local church worship leaders on key issues in developing the worship life of a church.

Powerful worship, meaningful ministry times and God's encouraging YES over us.

God Wants More Praise. Lift the Lid.
