Moratorium for the PAFP Diplomate Examinations

.
The following were the requirements needed to take the Specialty Board of Examinations:

A. Through CME track, a certified family physician must comply with the following requirements:

  1. earned 180 CME units
  2. attendance in Quality Assurance Workshop
B. Through Residency program: a Certified Family Physician who has  complied with the following requirements:
  1. continuously practiced family medicine for at least 1 year
  2. earned 60 CME credit per year
  3. written research paper
  4. attendance in Quality Assurance Workshop
In 2009 the Academy had issued moratorium that the above requirements were no longer required for the 2009 Specialty Board Examinations. All Certified Family Physicians were eligible to take the examination with compliance to the following requirements based on the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) dated February 2009.
  1. Updated payments of dues
During the General Assembly Meeting in the 49th  PAFP Annual Convention at the PICC, the moratorium was extended to the next three years (2010-2012) to allow members of the academy avail of the moratorium.

Why do you need to register early?

The number of examinees are limited per year because of the quota for the OSCE part of the oral examinations.

To register early is a smart move to any member who is eligible to take the examinations in order to avail of the best date for the oral examinations.
