Bill and Jerri Savuto are presently in the United States visiting their supporting churches.  Their schedule of churches being visited can be seen by clicking here.

William (Bill) and Jerri Savuto are missionaries with the General Board of Global Ministries (GBGM) of the United Methodist Church, serving at Maua Methodist Hospital in Maua, Kenya.

The Savutos have served as missionaries in a variety of settings.  During 1973-74 they served at the Navajo Methodist Mission School in Farmington, NM, USA.  At that time Bill taught high school math and Jerri was campus nurse and taught health courses.

From 1982-85, Bill and Jerri were in Belize City, Belize, Central America, where Bill taught math at Wesley College. Jerri established and directed the national breast feeding organization "Breast is Best League", and under Jerri's direction, breast feeding increased from 18% to 52%

From 1986-89 they served in Jos, Nigeria where Bill served as field treasurer for the Nigerian United Methodist Church and Jerri she did school and rural health nursing.

The Savutos served at Maua Methodist Hospital, Maua, Kenya from 1998-2003 where Bill’s responsibilities included maintenance and installation of computer hardware and software as well as training students and staff in computer use. Bill was also responsible for work teams, hospital construction, a Street Boy's Ministry, and worked closely with the AIDS Orphan Program of Maua Methodist Hospital.  Jerri was a tutor in the hospital RN program. Her responsibilities included teaching nursing students in the areas of anatomy, physiology, nutrition, pharmacology, medical and surgical nursing, pediatrics, and community health.

From 2004 – 2006 Jerri and Bill served as Missionary Interpreters in Residence for the South Central Jurisdiction of the UMC.

In January 2007, Jerri and Bill returned to serve at Maua Methodist Hospital.  Bill continues to work with the Information Technology Unit and serves as Chairperson of the IT Committee.  He
also works with work teams and is an assistant to the Hospital Administrator overseeing construction projects.  He also helps with the AIDS Orphan Program.  Jerri is presently serving as the Quality Improvement and Staff Development Officer.  Jerri is responsible the Quality Improvement Program for the hospital.  Jerri says: “The hospital quality assessors recommended several hospitals in the area visit Maua Methodist Hospital to see their quality improvement program.  I believe I am in the right place at the right time and doing just what God has called me to do:  Helping Maua Methodist Hospital to continue to serve the 1 million people in our area by giving quality care and services to the glory of God.”

Bill shares, "To fulfill God's call for us as a Christian Church, we must be in Mission. Jesus said the two Great Commandments are: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all of your soul, and with all of your strength; and love your neighbor as you love yourself. We must ground our faith in worship, prayer, Bible study, and reveal and practice our faith in mission throughout the world by giving the Good News of God's love to our Brothers and Sisters in Christ. Faith and works go together in God's plan for our lives here on earth - we must do both."

Valley View UMC is a Covenant Supporting church for Bill and Jerri.  The  Valley View church maintains this web page with letters from the Savutos so those interested can keep up with what is going on in this mission area.
