Acura CSX Speaker Install
This is my very modest attempt at a speaker installation in my new 2008 Acura CSX
Custom Search | After getting my new Acura CSX (Canadian souped up verison of a Honda Civic), it became very clear that the sound was REALLY REALLY bad. It was almost unbearable. I asked around on an Acura CSX forum, and it looked like no one there had gone through doing an install themselves yet. I was a little nervous about taking the door apart, as every other install i did was an easy grill removal, so i decided to put up this site to show people what i did and hopefully inspire them into attempting it themselves. Its really easy, and you don't need a lot of tools. The most complicated tool involved was a jigsaw. Read on if you interested in seriously improving the sound quality in your Acura CSX or Honda Civic.
This install required NO cutting of metal or drilling holes in the car. I bought the speakers from Crutchfield, and they said the car would need some some modifications. It did not need any modification, but I did have to make a wooden plate to mount between the speaker and the door.
Design goals: The most important thing in any audio project is to have clear goals. My goals were to improve the sound quality without changing the head unit (has built in navigation), I did not want to add a subwoofer, and i did not want to add an amp. The car is a lease, and i want to be able to give it back at the end of the lease without any issues.
