This website was created by Amy Pilarczyk for SLIS 603.  The project is attended to children in grades 3-6 as they are learning about space in school.  I added books, websites and experiments that the students can look at while they are learning.  The interactive tool I used was a crossword puzzle creator.  I always loved doing crossword puzzles in school and they are helpful when learning vocabulary words. It can be done by anyone: teachers, librarians, or students.  Once it is completed it can be printed out and distributed to anyone.  The students can make their own as an assignment or just make one for fun on any topic-all you need are words and definitions.

 

This site can be used in either schools or libraries.  All the books I included can be found at my local library which would be useful to anyone looking for the books and do not want to purchase the books.  The websites are all by credible sources and the experiments also enhance what the students will be learning.

 

Although I loved the tool I did not like that you could not save the puzzle and go back to it later.  So I made one to test it out and once I was done I was mad that I could not save it.  I added a slideshow to my site since I have never used Picasa.  I have also never used Google sites and it took some time to learn how to do some things with the website.
