What is the South Shore PTSA Annual Fund?

This year, the South Shore Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is introducing an annual fund program, asking families and friends to consider giving a monetary donation in any amount. Whether you are able to give $1 or $1000, your gift will be greatly appreciated. Even if you cannot make a donation now, you may know someone who can. Please forward this request to friends, neighbors and to businesses you have a relationship with!

Why should I give to the Annual Fund?

This is an excellent way to support the entire school, especially for those who don’t have time to participate in some of the other sales-type fundraisers. The money raised will provide programs that enrich the lives of every student, helping to fulfill our school’s vision of creating a loving community of purposeful learning that focuses on the whole child: body, mind and spirit.

Donations from the Annual Fund will make it possible to support:

  • Cultural events throughout the school year, celebrating our community’s diversity.
  • A classroom fund so teachers can buy needed supplies and take children on fieldtrips.
  • After school programming so students have a positive place to go after school.
  • Athletic activities/uniforms so that all students are able to be active in sports.
  • Scholastic Book Fair to encourage a love of reading and learning in all students.
  • Community building activities like the Back to School BBQ for all South Shore families.

How do I give to the Annual Fund?

Write a check, give a cash donation or give via PayPal using the form on the next page. (You don’t need to have a PayPal account.) Our goal is to raise $10,000.00 this school year.

How can I get involved or have a voice in decision making?

All families are welcome at South Shore and encouraged to be a part of decision making! Every staff member, student and family is welcome at monthly PTSA Board and General Membership meetings. Free child care is provided at membership meetings. If you know of someone who needs an interpreter, please let us know! For more information and/or to become a PTSA member, email Stacey Jacobsen at kal_stacey@yahoo.com or return the form (see attachment below) to the PTSA office.

Please Note:

Donations are not tax deductible until the South Shore PTSA is approved for 501c3 status. However, companies will often match employee charitable donations. Please check with your company to see about doubling the impact of your gift to South Shore School!
