Our May 12 Cooking Workshop was a success!
Seven students wore aprons and chef hats. In 4 hours they made chicken broccoli casserole, bacon wrapped green beans, dump cake, and a parfait. Thank you to Chef Jackie Cabrera, Instructor Liz Egan-Satter, and St. Luke's. That commercial kitchen was perfect.
Only the Shadow knows
Neil and Linda Schulman, from Radio Enthusiasts of Puget Sound, put on a classic old-time radio presentation March 10th: Lone Ranger, King of the Yukon, The Shadow, Blondie--even the commercials were a hoot. On their behalf, we donated $50 to the Federal Way Women's Shelter. A trip to the Communications Museum is in the works. About our chapter
You are invited to join us at: Denny's in Federal Way, the back room
2132 S 320th Street
This Denny's is located around the corner from the Transit Center and across from The Commons.
Ideas and energy are always welcome -- you don't have to be legally blind. The Council is a great way to meet people, learn about relevant issues, and discover opportunities to serve. We meet the second Saturday of the month from 10:30 to 12:30. Our chapter is affiliated with the Washington Council of the Blind and the American Council of the Blind. South King Council of the Blind was established February, 2005
What we believe:
People who are blind contribute much to society. With the right support, people experiencing vision impairment break professional boundaries and make a difference in their communities.
We believe in the empowerment of the individual. Outreach to people newly diagnosed with permanent vision loss is vital. We work to change the public perception of what it means to be blind in South King County and beyond. Copyright © 2012 South King Council of the Blind
