Welcome to the South Georgia MOPS Council site!  I hope this site will be a great asset to all of you as you lead your groups.  I would love for you to share information on the site - special meetings, fundraisers, photos, etc.  Please forward anything you would like to share to my email and I will post for everyone to see.

 

I don't know about all of you but my summer has flown by!  I seems that school just ended yet we are going back in 1 week!  I will also be returning to work after 10 years at home.  I will be working p/t as the Art teacher at the school my girl's attend, First Christian Academy in Richmond Hill.  I'm very excited to be able to work so close to my girls and be involved in their school activities.  I am planning to continue in my role as CC and I will also be Co-Coordinating a group at my home church so please keep my family in your prayers as I attempt to juggle these 2 new positions with my current responsibilities.

 

Many of you have already held your Steering Team retreats to plan your upcoming MOPS year.  I would love to hear all about them.  Please post your ideas or ask questions in the comment section on our "Let's Talk!" page.  I can't wait to hear from you all.  If you have something that will be useful to all of our groups let me know and I'll post it on the "Toolbox" page.  

Calling all DGTL and DGL's!  Be prepared to connect and encourage the moms at your table by attending the DGL Training on August 15th @ First Presbyterian Church in Pooler.  This is a council meeting for Discussion Group Leaders only.  Registration opens at 8:45 and we will begin at 9 am sharp.  Lunch will be provided for a small cost of $5.  We do need to know who is attending to make sure we order enough food so please respond to the evite no later than Friday, August 7th.  Please let me know if you do not register in time and still wish to attend.  To register please go to http://www.evite.com/pages/invite/viewInvite.jsp?inviteId=DYPUJKQCUOTQQFOUAKPO&li=iq&src=email&trk=aei6.  

 

I hope that many of you are planning to attend this year's convention in Nashville, TN!  If you have attended a MOPS convention before then you know what a wonderful time this is.  If you have not experienced it but you plan to attend this year...you will be blessed!  This will be 5th MOPS convention and I'm so excited!  The speakers are always fabulous and the musical artists are just phenomenal.  Matt Redman ("Blessed Be Your Name", "You Never Let Go") will be our worship leader this year with other artists including, Plumb, Natalie Grant and Matthew West.  Speakers include Naomi Cramer Overton (President, MOPS International), Efrem Smith, Robert Gelinas and comedien Ken Davis.  There also many workshops to choose from including speakers like Margaret Feinberg ("The Organic God", "The Sacred Echo"), Dr. Tim Kimmel (Grace Based Parenting), and Lisa Bergren (Life Together on Planet Mom).  Regular registration ends on August 3rd.  Go to www.mops.org/events to register today.
