Dr. Zachary Merriam attended the New York Institute of Technology/New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Old Westbury, N.Y., where he obtained both his Bachelor of Science degree in Life Science, as well as his D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) degree, in a seven-year combined B.S./D.O. program. He completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology, at Maimonides Medical Center, in Brooklyn, N.Y. Maimonides Medical Center has a reputation for excellence in all aspects of women’s healthcare, including being home to the largest Labor & Delivery unit in the state of New York, with close to 8000 deliveries annually. Dr. Merriam chose to pursue a career in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology, not only because of the challenge of balancing quality primary healthcare, with acute care and surgery; but also, because of the unique opportunity to encourage and educate women, and improve their health awareness. In joining Southern Connecticut Women’s Healthcare Associates, he is dedicated to providing outstanding medical care, and forming long-lasting relationships with the patients that he cares for. |
