Bob Rotheram
Reader in Assessment, Learning and Teaching, National Teaching Fellow. He is interested in uses of technology in education, especially to enhance assessment.

Simon Thomson
University Teacher Fellow and specialises in technology-enhanced learning. As a Principal Lecturer he has previously used audio as a feedback tool for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. He is an Apple Distinguished Educator and as such will be exploring how the audio tools utilised within the project may work in a cross-platform environment.

Mandy Asghar

University Teacher Fellow and Course Leader for BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy. She has an particular interest in formative assessment and peer learning.

Ollie Jones

University Teacher Fellow and teaches strategy and operations management in the Faculty of Business & Law. His interests include developing business games and role-plays, and how to enrich the student experience with effective blended learning. He has previously been using technology to record normal face-to-face feedback in formative contexts.

Phil Race


Visiting Professor: Assessment, Learning and Teaching. National Teaching Fellow, and when not at Leeds Met gives keynotes and workshops at many other places. He regards feedback as the lifeblood of successful learning, and is excited about sound.

Sue Smith

Principal Lecturer in physiotherapy and a University Teacher Fellow. Her special interests are group working and inter-professional learning.

University Teacher Fellow and Senior Lecturer in Nursing. Her special interests are in the first-year experience and developing students’ academic skills.

Steve Cobley

Senior Lecturer within the disciplines of motor skill development and sport expertise, teaching across both undergraduate and postgraduate provision. With the quality of instruction and feedback a known key determinant in facilitating skill acquisition, Steve is incorporating the ‘Sounds Good’ project into his instruction and feedback within courses training future physical educationalists and sports coaches.

Principal Lecturer and University Teacher Fellow. He is currently seconded to the Technology Enhanced Learning Team and takes an interest in all aspects of Computer Assisted Assessment.
