TECHNICAL , VOCATIONAL ,  AND TRADE SCHOOLS

If you haven't decided where you want to continue your education after high school , consider a vocational , trade or technical school . Many jobs are available through learning a trade. Sometimes you can learn through an apprenticeship or a work co-op .

Find Vocational Schools

Vocational schools provide hands on experience to enable you to quickly develop an expertise in your chosen area.If you are the type of person who likes hands-on learning , vocational schools are a great choice.

Vocational schools tend to be  less expensive than college-degree schools.  In addition ,  you can be specialized in a wide range of skills in your field . Some programs are on- the -job training. This means getting paid to go to school !Mechanics or electricians, career in culinary arts, fashion design, information technology, radio broadcasting, massage therapy, or business , secretarial and office management skills are just a sampling of what you can find .

Lastly , one of the major benefits of a vocational or trad school is networking . These schools go out of their way to help you find a job. They know people in the field !

HOW TO FIND A GOOD VOCATIONAL/TECHNICAL SCHOOL

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR SENDING YOUR CHILD TO A PRIVATE SCHOOL

There are many reasons that a single parent may want to send a child to a private school : religious preferance , safety , medical , special educational needs ( which can include the deplorable dumbing down of education in our country ). This organization helps pay for that option.

---NOTE--- These are partial scholarship funds

"Eligible families are required to demonstrate their financial need as measured by standards similar to the Federal school lunch program, which takes into account family size. The Fund focuses on elementary education because the earlier a child receives sound schooling, the better. Scholarships are awarded to all eligible children in a family to attend the school or schools of their choice.

The Children's Scholarship Fund provides scholarships for children grades Kindergarten - 8th. Children must be 5 years or older to receive scholarships.

For families with children younger than 5, information on Child Care resources and financial assistance can be found by calling "

Child Care Aware at 1-800-424-2246 (www.childcareaware.org).
