So, it's that time again.
As the winter months approach with the days getting shorter and the air getting chilly, it reassuring to know that the guiding light of the 'Tuesday Run Club', still flickers strong, inspiring us to rise up and battle the elements, almost believing we are a powerful enough force to take on even nature itself.
Congratulations are in order to all those who completed the Royal Parks half-marathon last weekend, and a true credit the city you all are. Whilst some say we work in a city that never sleeps, more and more it appears to me that we work in a city where we are blessed to be surrounded by inspiring people who are keen to grab life's challenges by the horns, work towards them, no matter how big or small, and make sure, no matter, what circumstance of everyday normal life lays down before them, they understand the importance of concentration and achievement, taking risks to push their limitations in the way we are designed to do.
As the quote says 'Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass... it is about learning to dance in the rain', so well done to all those who danced in the rain, and good luck to those who'll be putting away the brollies in future.
Inspirational people breed inspirational people, and just as city is the body of the Wharf, the gym is the heart of city, with the 'Run Club' being the will that drives all. I'm not saying that future of Citi lies in your hands, though a little interval training down in the Riverside Park on Tuesday couldn't do any harm.
Gym Reception, Tuesday 12.30, your future awaits - brollies optional!.
See you then.
