NGH Continuing Education Requirements
ANNUAL RE-CERTIFICATION INFORMATION
This annual requirement does not apply to members who are not certified or to those who want to continue as members without keeping their professional certifications current.
Otherwise, you need to have 15 hours of annual continuing education for your re-certification. You can accumulate hour per hour credits for approved continuing education programs listed below.
The annual period in which to attain these fifteen hours of credit starts on your dues renewal date (if your dues are due March 1, 2008 you have until March 1, 2009 to accumulate the fifteen credit hours).
This annual re-certification requirement is standard among other professions and has been enacted by the Guild for the advancement of our members and the profession as a whole.
Keep track of any of the ways in which you achieve your re-certification credits during the next 12 months. Have that information available when you pay your dues. Approved credits sent to NGH by chapter secretaries, seminar instructors, convention, etc., during the year will be entered as you accumulate them and will appear on your dues invoice next year. It‚s up to you to keep track and to inform us as you accumulate hours ... it's up to us to add the hours to your computer information when you send them in. If you have any questions, call (603) 429-9438. Here are some ways to accumulate hours:
- Attendance at the annual convention, Solid Gold Weekend, an NGH weekend seminar, or course given by an NGH Certified Instructor.
- Attendance at NGH chapter meetings with a speaker, panel discussion, or workshop. Hourly credits are given when the local Chapter submits a list of names and addresses of meeting attendees.
- Any pre-approved (by NGH) course conducted by a member teaching standard hypnosis subjects to others.
- Any pre-approved (by NGH) course or seminar conducted by a recognized professional hypnosis group.
- Any article researched and written by you which is accepted for publication in the Journal Of Hypnotism® or the Hypno-Gram.®
- Independent study using NGH approved texts or videos. (Most standard hypnosis, psychology, and counseling textbooks are approved.) You must submit an outline/report demonstrating your understanding of the book or video.
- Assist in the presentation of an NGH certified course or workshop under the mentorship of an NGH approved instructor.
- Teach a class or classes for the public on such subjects as self-hypnosis, stress, weight-loss, relaxation, etc.
- Attend classes on hyp–no–sis-related subjects at an institution of higher learning. (Example: psych, counseling, at community college, night school, extension courses, etc.)
- Submit a completed CEU Quiz from the Journal of Hypnotism.®
Important˜ If you do not complete the CEU requirement your membership will still remain active on payment of your dues, but your certification is not listed as being current. Overdue CEU credits can be brought up to date by arrangement with the NGH office.
