Plan on opening a savings account and paying with cash for most transactions (it is very easy to get bank certified checks for large expenses like rent). Because it is also difficult for non-citizens to open joint accounts here, you may choose to have the account solely in your student's name. Phone: 440-2526 Electronics and Computer Repair: The Computer Store—electronics and computer supplies are quite expensive in Grenada, because of the large amount of taxes that retailers have to pay to ship things in. But, the folks here will be happy to help you, even if they have to do a special order for parts from the States. Their repair staff is also quite good. Phone: 444-3653 NOTE: Hardware and plumbing supplies sometimes sell out quickly (especially at the start of a semester, and it can take weeks or months for some parts to be shipped in and get restocked.
