POTENTIAL DES OPENING:
Supplemental Learning (SL) Program Demonstrator (Bio/Physio degree required)
The Department of Educational Services (DES) would like to collect
applications for a potential Bachelor’s-level faculty position in the Supplemental Learning (SL) Program. It is anticipated that this position
would become available in Spring 2010. This Demonstrator-level position is
part-time hourly paid (up to 25 hrs per week at $10 US per hour).
Minimum Qualifications:

An earned Bachelor's degree in Biology, or related field, is required;

Candidates must have also completed coursework in physiology with good
grades;
- Good written, interpersonal, and communication skills;
- The ability
to work well with small groups and within a team;
- Proficiency in the MS
Office suite;
- Persons should have a flexible schedule and must not be
concurrently enrolled, at any institution, with a full load of classes;

Experience with student services/higher education is also desirable;

Minimum of 2 semesters of appointment commitment to the position is
required.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Conduct weekly active small group study sessions for undergrad students
in-between classes;
- Prepare session plans, handouts, attend classes, take
notes and course assessments;
- Read assigned materials;
- Interact with
student learners;
- Observe and assist student facilitators;
- Regularly meet
with the SL supervisor;
- Assist with program documentation and evaluation;
- Attend meetings and workshops;
- Maintain electronic learning resources;
- Perform other departmental duties, as directed.
