Announcements

Members of the Significant Others Organization use a Google Group to post informal announcements such as things for sale, apartment listings, recommendations on doctors, babysitting needs, book swaps, etc.

To view current announcements visit our group at:

To join the group and receive e-mails, visit the Web site and follow the steps at the "apply for group membership" link on the side bar.
 
We encourage all new and returning members to sign up to receive the e-mails and use this tool to communicate with fellow SOs.
 
Please keep announcements professional in nature and refrain from using the group for political issues, etc. Also, when replying to a post with information that does not pertain to the whole group please reply to the individual who sent the original message only. For example, if you respond to a post about things for sale please send the note to the seller and not the Google Group list.

Grenada Round-the-Island Race weekend full of fun family activities

The Grenada South Coast Yacht Club is pleased to announce the exciting weekend line up for this year’s Grenada Round-the-Island Race to be held 13-15 March at Garfield’s Beach Bar on Grand Anse Beach.

Grenada Round-the-Island Race – Saturday, 14 March, start time 8 a.m.

One of the oldest sailing events in the Caribbean is back for another year. Check our online crew board if you are interested in sailing. 

 

Youth Sailing Exhibition – Saturday, 14 March, 11 a.m.

While seasoned sailors make their way around the island, local youth will learn more about the joys of sailing.

 

Family Fun Beach Day – Saturday, 14 March, 1 p.m.

Families are invited to gather at Grand Anse beach for kid-friendly games such as tug of war, potato sack races and an egg toss.

 

Bathtub Derby – Sunday, 15 March, 1 p.m.

Creative and ingenious participants can float their own version of a sailboat and compete for a grand prize. Register online or on the beach starting at noon.

 

Taste of Grenada – Sunday, 15 March, 11:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.

The first event of its kind on the island, A Taste of Grenada will feature a wide cross section of local vendors selling their delicious food, including several cooks from the popular Fish Friday and chefs from premier restaurants offering menu samplings.

 

Awards ceremony and live entertainment – Sunday, 15 March, 4:00 p.m.

A post-race party will include food, drinks and music as well as the anticipated ceremony where race winners are declared and prizes are awarded.
