SU HISTORIA PERSONAL COMO ARTISTA MARCIAL
Kwan Jang Nim Hwang Kee nació el 9 de noviembre de 1.914 en Jang
Dan, Kyong Ki provincia donde el DMZ se encuentra actualmente
. Su padre, Hwang, Yong Hwan, tuvo un sueño en el cual vió a la
estrella brillante (Sam Tae Song) antes del nacimiento de su hijo. El
le puso de nombre a su hijo "Tae Nom" que significa "niño de las estrellas".
Luego le cambiaron el nombre por "Kee". Su padre fue un sabio que logró
tener un alto nivel de reconocimiento en la última Dinastía del Rey Yi,
Ko Jong.
En mayo de 1.921, cuando el joven Hwang Kee tenía unos 7 años de edad,
para la época de las fiestas tradicionales llamadas "Dan O" en la festividad
nacional de mayo, visitó la ciudad vecina a la suya en donde se estaban
desarrollando actividades folclóricas típicas y bailes. Debido a que disfrutaba
enormemente viendo estas actividades folclóricas como por ejemplo el Ssirum
(lucha libre tradicional), arquería y carreras de vehículos observó a
un grupo de personas que estaban en una taberna haciendo mucho ruido por
lo que pensó que se trataba de una pelea. Se acercó y vio a un grupo de
siete u ocho hombres jóvenes que discutían con un hombrede edad mayor
y lo que en un principio comenzó como una discusión pronto se transformó
en una pelea física. El grupo de hombres jóvenes empezó a golpear al hombre
que estaba solo el cual comenzó a defenderse evitando los ataques y contraatacando
con varias patadas al grupo de hombres. Pronto el grupo que comenzó la
pelea fue cayendo uno a uno como resultado de los extraños movimientos
efectuados por este hombre. Una vez finalizada la pelea, uno de los espectadores
dijo: "Esto es Tae Kyun" y otro agregó "Esto es Sip Pal Ki" mientras se
iban. Kwan Jang Nim quedó tan inpresionado por la actuación de este hombre
que decidió averiguar cual era el arte marcial que había utilizado. Siguió
al hombre desde lejos y descubrió donde vivía.
Unos cuantos días más tarde, se dirigió a la casa donde vivía este hombre
y se sentó en una colina cercana para observar su casa. Pudo observar
que este hombre practicaba algunos movimientos con sus manos y piernas
con un compañero. Observó muy de cerca estas prácticas con gran interés
y se dio cuenta de que estas eran las mismas técnicas que el hombre había
utilizado durante la pelea en la taberna. A partir de ese momento, solía
ir seguido y ubicarse cerca de la casa del hombre para poder observar
como se entrenaba y comenzó a imitar y practicar las técnicas que dicho
hombre realizaba.
Un día decidió aprender dichas técnicas para lo cual fue a ver al hombre
y le pidió que se las enseñara. Su pedido fue denegado debido a que Hwang
Kee era muy jóven. Como estaba en desacuerdo con lo expresado por el hombre,
siguió yendo a su casa y observándolo practicar cada vez que podía y comenzó
a practicar por su cuenta y consigo mismo cada técnica que había visto.
Esto era el "Tae Kyun" que había sido transmitido desde la última etapa
de la Dinastía Yi. Esta experiencia fue la mayor influencia que tuvo Kwan
Jang Nim, quien dedicó toda su vida al Soo Bahk Doo Moo Duk Kwan.
El sistema educativo de Corea hace 70 años eran totalmente diferente al
actual. Pocos estudiantes lograban graduarse del colegio secundario. Kwan
Jang Nim comenzó la escuela a los 11 años de edad y se graduó en marzo
de 1.935. Una vez que se graduó , se fue a Manchuria para trabajar en
la compañía de ferrocarril en mayo de 1.935.
En mayo de 1.936 tuvo la oportunidad de conocer a un maestro Chino, Master
Yang, Kuk Jin y de visitar la casa del Master Yang con un amigo, Park,
Hyo Pli, quien trabajaba con El en la estacion Jo Yang Chun. Durante esta
visita, observó que Master Yang estaba enseñando en su casa un arte marcial
chino a un grupo de estudiantes particulares. El jamas perdió la esperanza
de aprender en profundidad las artes marciales desde aquella experiencia
a los 7 años de edad. Siempre se entrenó en donde quiera que estuviese
y con cualquiera cosa que tuviese a manos durante los ultimos 20 años
de su vida; sin embargo jamás había tenido una organización prolija para
estas lecciones ni había tenido acceso a literatura relacionada con el
tema.
Luego de insistir el Sr. Hwang Kee y su amigo Park fueron aceptados como
alumnos . Master Yang admiraba su dedicación.
Junto con el Sr. Hwang Kee también entrenaban cuatro hombres más. Dichas
prácticas se basaban en tres pilares: el Seh Bop (métodos de posturas),
Bo Bop (meéodos de pies) y Ryun Bop (métodos de concentración). También
practicaban "Dham Toi Sip E Ro" y "Tae Kuk Kwon" que son disciplinas para
obtener un buen estado fisico y para aplicar en el combate.
En agosto de 1.937 tuvo que volver a Seul por razones personales por lo
que debió dejar de asistir a las clases del Master Yang, a quien volvería
a ver años mas tarde en un viaje a Manchuria .
Establecido en Seul buscó seguir practicando Artes Marciales
e incluso enseñarlas , pero la ocupación Japonesa ( 1910
- 1945 ) Habia influido fuertemente y solo Kendo y Judo eran practicados
por ese entonces . La gente desconocía el Soo Bahk, Karate de Okinawa,
Wu Shu Chino o Kung Fu.
Al finalizar la II Guerra mundial y liberarse Corea de la ocupación
Japonesa ceden las prohibiciones y logra fundar la Mu Duk Kwan el 9 de
Noviembre de 1945.
Siguieron años de trabajo duro, al crearse el Tae Kwon
Do (1965) Kwan Jan Nim recibe presiones de todo tipo para unir su escuela a ese
movimiento. El Maestro resistió todo tipo de intentos de destruir
la escuela Mu Duk Kwan , muchos de sus alumnos mas avanzados , se unieron
a las filas del Tae Kwon Do .
Luego de una dura lucha gano el juicio contra el Gobierno en 1965 y salvó
a la Asociación Coreana de Soo Bahk Do.
En Enero de 1.966, el gobierno (El Ministerio de Educación) comenzó un
juicio en la Suprema Corte contra él y la Asociación Coreana de Soo Bahk
Do. Luego de una dura lucha legal , ganó el juicio en junio de 1.966.
Como consecuencia de este suceso, quedó garantizada la futura existencia
de la Asociación Coreana de Soo Bahk Do, basada en "el principio de no
someter a nadie a un doble peligro " en la ley coreana
Comenzó entonces un período de difusión
del Su Bahk Do en el mundo . Por medio de instructores certificados por
Kwan Jan Nim Hwang Kee . Hoy día el mundo de las Artes MArciales
lo reconoce como el Gran Maestro que fue y muchos practicantes de Taekwondo
y Tang Su Do reconocen en él sus raices .
El Gran Maestro Hwang Kee partió de este
mundo el 14/07/2002
dejando una escuela fuerte y consolidada bajo el liderazgo de su hijo
