About Me

    I am an Assistant Professor of Computer Information Systems. I received a PhD in Information Systems and Technology from Claremont Graduate University,a Master of Science in Computer Science as well as a Master of Business Administration from Illinois State University.

    I have taught various undergraduate and graduate level courses in Information Systems and Computer Science at Cal State Fresno,Cal State Channel Islands,Claremont Graduate University and Illinois State University. My research interests focus on web intelligence (business intelligence using web analytics) and social networking (online community,social learning,and social media) as they apply to education and enterprise.

    I have published in multiple leading academic journals and conferences including Journal of Information Technology Education,Journal of Information Systems Education,International Journal of E-Learning,HICSS,AMCIS and ACM SIGMIS.

    Prior to entering academia,I worked full time as a software engineer in health informatics and higher education for seven years. As an engineer,I worked deeply with Enterprise Resources Planning,Business Intelligence,Content Management Systems,e-learning,e-health products,and a variety of open source projects;I also designed and developed numerous software and web applications. My industry experience uniquely balances my perspective in teaching and research,and helps me to relate to my students and to the real world business problems that technology aims to solve.
