NOVEMBER 15, 2008 - Three calendar SOMOS ADMINISTRATORS are assigned to keep the calendar current. NOVEMBER 17, 2008 - Initial start up of the SOMOS Web Site. Definitely an on-going project and we hope it provides useful information to anyone that visits our site. SPREAD THE WORD ! NOVEMBER 20, 2008 - Solicitation to members and non-members to sign up for the SOMOS EMAIL GROUP. We hope the email group mailings will make it easier to distribute information regarding our club and NOTRA racing in general. Anyone can sign up for the email group by using the Email SOMOS link on most of the pages of this web site or send an email to somosovalracing@gmail.com. Also added the ability to download race meet RACE MEET ENTRY FORMS in MS WORD format on the RACE ENTRY FORM page of this web site. NOVEMBER 22, 2008 - More pages added to the web site to provide information on how to REGISTER SIGHTHOUNDS with NOTRA. This not only includes Whippets, but also includes "Other Sighthound Breeds" (OB) NOVEMBER 23, 2008 - Added another web page to provide instructions for NGA-GH (adopted Greyhound) registry with the assistance of Pat Moran. Thanks Pat ! Also did a redo on the JACKSONVILLE MOTELS page to provide more information. NOVEMBER 24, 2008 - Added "OVAL RACING VIDEOS " page that contains videos downloaded from YouTube. Some are from the USA and some from Europe. Hopefully one day we'll be able to video some of the SOMOS racing. NOVEMBER 25, 2008 - Created SOMOS BLOG and sent to limited number of SOMOS members as a "dry run". Created another web page named PHOTO SLIDE SHOW that contains some photos taken during the 2006 through 2008 racing season. The slide show contains some very nice photos taken at the Jacksonville, Florida race track. Last I added a " HIT COUNTER " to the Home Page to keep track of visitors. NOVEMBER 27, 2008 - HAPPY THANKSGIVING ! Replaced PHOTO SLIDE SHOW with an updated version that includes new logo and photo rearrangement. Replaced SOMOS logo with one that better matches the color scheme of the web site. NOVEMBER 28, 2008 - Replaced Photo Slide Show again to add credits. Also added a DOWNLOADABLE MOVIE FORMAT version, so visitors can download a personal version that will play on any desktop media player capable of playing .WMV files. NOVEMBER 30, 2008 - SOMOS Google Group page was added to guide visitors to Google Groups. The NEWSLETTER is now available on the Newsletter Page. DECEMBER 01, 2008 - Replaced the Downloadable Movie Format photo slide show based at YouTube with a GOOGLE VIDEO version. View is smaller, but the quality is slightly better. Added the ability to download four (4) different size HIGH QUALITY DESKTOP COMPATIBLE PHOTO SLIDE SHOW. The quality of these Movie Formatted With Music photo slides shows is far superior to the online version because the original photo quality was retained. DECEMBER 03, 2008 - Added an Online Race Entry Form to the RACE ENTRY FORM web page to permit complete ELECTRONIC race meet ENTRIES. Complete with SOMOS administrator and submitter email receipt / confirmation, and database backup in the event email services fail. Also added a new email service that will provide better service and a more precise way for us to track email submissions. DECEMBER 05, 2008 - Converted to a DIFFERENT Google provided WEB THEME, no other way to do it. According to some users original light blue color theme did not show up well on certain users monitors / screens. Also added a POLL / SURVEY web page to solicit opinions on whether SOMOS should attempt to host the 2010 NOTRA NATIONALS at the Jacksonville, Florida facility. Please participate. DECEMBER 07, 2008 - Web site was updated to include newsletter # 2. DECEMBER 09, 2008 - Adopted a NEW SOMOS logo designed by " Pat Moran ". Implemented change to all SOMOS Documents,Files, Google Group, Newsletter, BLOG and race entry forms. Great Job Pat ! DECEMBER 10, 2008 - Created new web page that depicts the Top Twenty Whippet OTR Point Earners for 2008. DECEMBER 11, 2008 - Created a new web page that depicts the Top Ten Greyhound Point Earners for 2008. |
