Welcome!

Thrill The World is an annual worldwide simultaneous dance of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" for world records and charity. Somerville Thrill The World is but one piece in this vast spectacle of dancing zombies. This year hundreds of thousands of people around the world are expected to dance Thriller at the exact same moment on the exact same day, and Boston area residents are no exception. In addition to contributing to a world record attempt, the Somerville event will go to benefit a local non-profit. Please come join us for this outlandishly awesome event.

NOTE: because of the forecast of rain for Saturday, we have had to change our venue. Somerville Thrill The World will now be taking place at:

Unity Church of God, 6 William Street, Somerville. At the corner of College Ave and William Street just outside of Davis Square.

SCHEDULE:

Saturday, October 24th 2009

3:00 - 5:30pm Thriller Workshop, REQUIRED for anyone who doesn't already know the dance

5:30 - 7:00pm Registration, Raffle, Prizes, Makeup and Costume
7:00 - 8:10pm Group rehearsal in costume
8:10 - 8:30pm Official world record sign-in
8:30 - 8:36pm Thrill Time!!
8:36 - 9:00pm Photo op and official world record sign-out

NOTE: if you already know the dance please arrive no later than 6:30, or you may not be able to participate. Keep in mind that if you arrive at 6:30 you will not have very much time to put on your costume and makeup.

HOW TO JOIN IN:

Register using our online registration form (it's not binding, it's just helpful to me!)
Print out the pledge form and ask some folks for some dollars. If you come to the event with pledges, we'll wave the (very small) door charge, you'll be automatically entered in the raffle, and three of you could win a prize for most pledges raised!
Work on learning the dance! Anyone can come on the day-of, and we'll teach it to you, but it will be more fun/less chaotic for you if you work on the moves ahead of time.
