| took a little break from the writing, mostly because we were busy with events and getting the boys out the door. They left early early Sunday morning and have been having a good time in NY since. In the meantime here on the West Coast we are proceeding low key. Finally started filing all my 07 and 08 receipts and will start on the actual taxes soon. Higby's will deliver shavings and grain tomorrow, Rick should deliver sand for the round pen this afternoon. Before he left, Anton fixed and touched up a bunch of little things that were going to be a pain for me to deal with while he was gone, from replacing the hitch on the garbage golf cart (which he gave to his friend to go to burning man with!) to adjusting the water pressure since we installed the cycle stop valve. He fixed some irrigation lines and sent out an e-mail to the solar system people (yes, the idea is to install a solar system by the well to run the well with his retirement money.) I seeded the new pasture Saturday, but have since seen lots of birdies having a feast. I did not know that coated Bermuda seeds could be appetizing, but they must be! Sunday Casey Hoffman came to take a lesson with Don. Don was impressed with the jumps we have built and Casey jumped almost all of them. I have pictures that I will post. |
