Selected Class Project

In the Fall of 2011, to reinforce the 3-POP themes of unity and purpose, the class worked together on its chosen community service project: to help a school that has been damaged by natural disaster. Based on its evident need as a result of the June 2011 tornado (its headquarters and primary school location were destroyed), Square One early child learning and care center in Springfield, MA was chosen as the recipient of the Somers Class of 2018 community service project.   To learn more about Square One, please visit www.sdn.org.

The Book that Started it All...

Take Your Best Shot, by Austin Gutwein

"The world expects so little out of us [kids] right now, it's almost ridiculous... Who set the bar so low?  Note to grown-ups: please - expect more of us.  We just might surprise you."

"We believe we can make a difference at any age... We can be used.  It's time to make a difference in the world, now."
