Sartorn and Son Scabbard Store
Southwest Endless Street, Ankh-Morpork. Few east of Limping Gate.
Al is the eldest son of Ahmed Sartorn who founded the Endless Street scabbard store after the great fire of '02 which destroyed the old store on Heroes Street. Al took over management of the store recently when his father decided to take a well earned retirement, and he lost no time in expanding the business.
The shop carries a range of scabbards in stock for the average buyer who just wants a place to keep his or her weapon, but for the connoisseur or anyone seeking something a little more stylish and personal, Al can make a scabbard tailored to your personal preferences.

You will need to ask for a list for every option as he doesn't volunteer it without being asked.

Custom scabbards are available for:
two-handed sword, long sword, short sword, cutlass, scimitar, rapier, poniard, knife, stiletto, dagger and belt loop.
The loops holding maces, flails, or a keyring.  He has no options for agatean weapons, bastard swords, sabres and other heavy sword types. Nor does he do staff harnesses or anything else for polearms.

With the smaller scabbards (poniard, stiletto, dagger and knife) you can choose from these options:
ankle scabbard, thigh scabbard, wrist scabbard and belt scabbard.
Two-handed sword scabbard is only made for wearing on your back and the other types are belt-slung only.

Scabbards are made from leather and can be covered with
dragonhide, shagreen, sued, velvet, silk, fur and wood or left plain.
The scabbards are still made of leather for appraise and repair options no matter what they are covered with, but the covering is what you see when you look at it, can be used with parser and has a very definite affect on durability.
Silk scabbards will get damaged quite quickly in combat, so keep an eye on them.

There are several different tannings for the plain leather scabbards, a range of colours for cloth or dragonhide scabbards and several different furs and woods.

Coverings and decorations do not affect the final price.
