| Google: More than a search engineGoogle has some very cool tools that have made using technology easier. On this page I will show you how to create collaborative documents, use free online presentation software, and write blogs. There is much more you can do, like create wikis, web pages and online forms (see the evaluation form on the home page for an example). Much of learning to use these tools is taking the time and playing around with them. How do I use Google's Tools? Here are video tutorials for the different tools. In addition, Google provides their own tutorials for Google Sites and Blogger. 1. First you want to create a Gmail account. This will be your access for all of Google's tools. (View Tutorial) 2. Creating and sharing a collaborative document (View Tutorial) 3. Creating and sharing a presentation (View Tutorial) 4. Setting up a Blog on Blogger (View Tutorial) 5 . Posting and Editing in Blogger (View Tutorial) 6. To create a web page, I recommend Roxer or EduBlogs, but you can also use Google Sites. I have used Google Sites for Wikis, but not for web pages. They do have a tutorial if you are interested, just to go the Google Sites main page and sign in with your Gmail account. |
