ADVENT IN SOHO
We wish everyone a hope-filled Advent, a joyous Christmas, and a New Year filled with peace and justice for all. The Schola Assumptionis will sing William Byrd's Mass for 4 Voices on the 2nd Sunday of Advent, 6 December, 17.00, at the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption & St. Gregory, Warwick Street, Soho, London W1B 5NB. Also at this Mass, welcoming LGBT Catholics, parents, families and friends, as part of Westminister Diocese's pastoral outreach, the Schola will sing the motet by Francisco Guerrero, Canite tuba in Sion (Sound the trumpet in Sion). The celebrant at this Mass will be Fr. Brendan Callaghan SJ, Master of Campion Hall, Oxford.

One Light, Many Flames LGBT Carol Service, Saturday, 12 December 15.00, St. Botolph’ s Church Aldgate. ALL ARE WELCOME ! Seasonal refreshments will follow the Mass for the 4th Sunday of Advent, 20 December, 17.00, when Mgr. Seamus O'Boyle, Parish Priest of the Church of the Assumption, will preside.

The first Mass in 2010 will take place on the Feast of the Epiphany, Sunday, 3 January 2010 at 17.00, followed by seasonal refreshments when Fr. Tony Lester O.Carm., Chaplain at the University of York, will preside.

AFTER-MASS REFRESHMENTS - a chance get to know other members of the congregation in the parish hall, particularly if you are new or visiting.

Soho Masses Younger Adults Group provides an opportunity to meet and socialise with other younger adults in their 20s, 30s & even 40s, who are part of, or visiting the Soho Masses. Leaflets available at the back of the Church. CIVIL PARTNERSHIPS: On 3rd Sundays we name those who have requested our prayers as they enter civil partnerships. It is right and just … that we account for 5.00 pm Mass collections on 1st & 3rd Sundays, November:£386. Your offertory gifts contribute to the day-to-day expenses of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish including the provision of these liturgies and other pastoral activities. Russian LGBT Christian Conference Retiring Collection: £190. With other donations we were able to contribute £760 for our sisters and brothers in Moscow. Catholics for AIDS Prevention & Support is also grateful for the World AIDS Mass retiring collection: £116.
