SOHC Aquatics participates in several different meets throughout the year. Area MeetThe Area 8 meet is held annually in the spring as a qualifying meet for participation in the Summer State Games. You will be required to participate in an Area meet in order to be eligible for the Summer State Games. SOHC will host these meets at Noblesville High School for all teams in Area 8, with the wonderful help of volunteers from the Noblesville Swim Club. It is a fun day full of competition! Summer GamesThe Summer Games typically take place the first weekend in June. It is the conclusion of our spring season with SOHC Aquatics. The event takes place at Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana. Athletes, Volunteers, and Coaches (and parents if they choose!) stay in the dorms for the weekend! It is fun to stay with the team. At the Summer Games, teams from all over the state of Indiana come to compete as friends. Athletes participate in individual swimming races, as well as relays, ranging from 25 yards to as much as 100 yards. In addition to swimming and other sports competitions, there is an extravagant Opening Ceremony, complete with dancing and singing! There is also Olympic Town, a carnival-type attraction. This meet is the grand finale of the fall season with SOHC Aquatics. Like the Summer Games, it is a state-wide event, featuring teams from all over the state of Indiana. It will be held at Indiana Weslyan University, and rather than a whole weekend of events, the fun fills up one Saturday. This event is geared toward our lower skilled athletes. They will compete in several individual events as well as a relay and a unique training event.
