Sit and soak up the atmosphere or (preferably) get up and dance to what will surely be a unique night in Norwich...and it's FREE! Saturday 14th November 8pm Live Swing Band & Dancing £15 This outfit is committed to damned fine music, dancing, dressing up and divine decoration. With live music from the best bands, saucy cabaret, heaven-sent DJ's, the legendary free and easy dance class from Swing City, and the mythical free prize draw you'll be spoilt rotten.
Add to that, the plethora of local acts (some with colourful language and burlesque themes), and our ever-loving Compere, Mr Cheeky Pete Dobbing, a little light alcoholic lubrication and a heady atmosphere and you've got yourselves THE perfect evening. This event has a Cold War theme - think Russia, think spies, think men and women in uniform. People do dress up within the theme at these events, and this all adds to the fun. In fact, people can feel out of place if they don't - you can't be too dressed up! Arrive at 8pm, a free Swing dance class is at 8.30pm, then dance the night away till 2am. Tickets need to be bought in advance.
Thursday 19th November 8pm Dinner Buddies Free An idea that's been in the back of my mind for some while. A fair few members have said that they love cooking but lack the guests to make it worthwhile cooking for. So, drawing on the inspiration from 'Come Dine With Me', I'd like to suggest forming a few dinner buddies teams, of 4-6 people, who can take turns each month to host dinner for each other. Sounds fun? Then let's meet to talk through the details, set a budget and form some teams.
Friday 20th November 8.15pm Salsa! Club Latino Free Free salsa lesson, free salsa music after to dance to, free tapas (and 'damn fine tapas it is too', according to the barmaid).
