Jefferson/Nobleboro SnoPackers

Welcome to the site of the Jefferson/Nobleboro SnoPackers Snowmobile Club, headquartered in Jefferson, Maine.

We hope to keep our members and the riding public informed about club events and trail conditions via this site.

Message from the President

The weather this spring and summer produced a lot of rain and we can all see the damage done along the roadsides by rushing water.  We fully expect that areas of our trail system were washed out by fast running streams.  We expect to have a considerable amount of work to do on trail preparation this fall.  This always brings us back to the issue of needing volunteers to help.  It seems it is always the same small number of individuals who do all the work.  Yet as evidenced by the turnout at the snowmobile races, a large number of folks in town enjoy riding on the trails.

Please do your part to help keep this wonderful trail system in operation.  If you ride a snowmobile, join the club.

Dues are $20 for a family membership and include both spouses and all children under the age of 18.  Also included is membership in the Maine Snowmobile Association.  Many insurance companies give discounts to MSA members, and that in itself will more than pay for the membership fee.  More than financial support, the club needs some volunteer time.  During the month of November, members  meet on Sunday mornings at 8 AM at All Season’s Automotive in Jefferson and work crews go to different sections of the trail system to clear brush, remove fallen trees and  build and repair bridges over streams.  If everyone would volunteer one or two Sunday morning’s worth of effort, the trails would be in shape in short order.

If the club fails to increase its membership and volunteer effort, it is very likely that the trail system will not be fully operational this winter.  It’s not much fun to ride a few miles and find a trail blocked by a downed tree or find a stream unfrozen and uncrossable because the bridge has fallen down.

If you are a snowmobiler, the SnoPackers really need your help.  Please join the club by filling out a membership form (click on Club Membership in the left column) and sending it along with your check payable to the Jefferson/Nobleboro SnoPackers, PO Box 355, Jefferson, ME 04348.  Volunteer some time and meet with club members to clear trails on Sundays in November.
