Welcome to the site of the Jefferson SnoPackers Snowmobile Club, headquartered in Jefferson, Maine.

We hope to keep our members and the riding public informed about club events and trail conditions via this site.

Message from the President

The winter of 2010/2011 was a mixed bag.  There was plenty of good snowmobiling in the area and a couple of dedicated members groomed the trails consistently, keeping them in very good condition.  The lake never froze in a manner that would support plow vehicles and the surface was very rough as well.  Consequently, we cancelled our races in February.  To add insult to injury, it rained steadily the day before our planned Family Fun Day in early March.  But there's always next year!

As always, we will be clearing trails this fall and we need your help.  If we get sufficient volunteers, the job goes fast.  Take the opportunity to spend a half day in the fall woods, enjoy the crisp air and see the beautiful foliage while at the same time helping to move branches and debris from blocking the trails.

When riding this winter, please do the responsible thing if you do run into obstacles in the trail.  Remove them!  Drag them off the trail.  Do not go off the trail and ride around them.  You may get stuck or you may cause landowners to deny trail access for everyone.

Please do your part to help keep this wonderful trail system in operation.  If you ride a snowmobile, join the club.

Dues are $20 for a family membership and include both spouses and all children under the age of 18.  Also included is membership in the Maine Snowmobile Association.  Many insurance companies give discounts to MSA members, and that in itself will more than pay for the membership fee.

If you are a snowmobiler, the SnoPackers really need your help.  Please join the club by filling out a membership form (click on Club Membership in the left column) and sending it along with your check payable to the Jefferson SnoPackers, PO Box 355, Jefferson, ME 04348.

Scott Barbour, President
