Dr. Xi WU is an Associate Professor at the School of Accountancy of the Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE), Beijing, China. Prior to joining CUFE in July 2006, he served as a technical staff of the Professional Standards Department of the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CICPA) since September 2001, and as a technical advisor of the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) during 2002 and 2003. He is currently a panel member of the CICPA in drafting and implementing Chinese auditing standards. He has also served as a panel member of the CICPA to review the self-disciplinary inspection on securities-market-licensed audit firms.
His research interests focus on auditing, accounting regulation, and corporate financial reporting. His work has been published in Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, The International Journal of Accounting, and several top Chinese scholarly journals, including China Accounting and Finance Review, 《管理世界》, 《会计研究》, and 《审计研究》.
He is an Associate Editor of China Journal of Accounting Research, and has served as an ad hoc reviewer for Asia-Pacific Journal of Accounting & Economics, China Accounting and Finance Review, China Journal of Accounting Research, International Journal of Auditing, 《会计研究》, 《中国会计评论》,《审计研究》, 《财经研究》, and 《南方经济》. He has also served as a correpondence reviewer for the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
