Dear Board Members

I wanted to alert you to a fire that occurred late this afternoon at SNAP’s Armory location.  First off, no staff or clients were hurt.  As best we understand, a piece of paper was lit on fire and dropped down a small crack which led to the elevator shaft.  The fire department was alerted by a SNAP staff member still in the building.  The fire department broke down a number of doors to locate the fire.

As I understand it the damage to SNAP property is mostly drywall and doors.  Special thanks to Chris Davis, Kathy Allen and the remaining SNAP staff who handled this situation with the utmost professionalism and safety.  While Larry was in Seattle, I was on the plane returning home and Ron Hardin on the west side – the situation seems to be well in hand.

Larry or I will send an email in the morning with additional updates.  All Armory staff should report to work in the morning.
