I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Purdue University. Before coming to West Lafayette, I was a Postdoctoral scholar at the University of Chicago. I received my PhD from the Department of Economics at the University of Amsterdam and the Tinbergen Institute and my undergraduate degree from Technical University of Lisbon. My research interests lie in the fields of experimental, behavior, organizational and labor economics. Currently, I am studying gender differences and the interplay of nature and nurture on females and males' behavior. I am also working on the mechanisms underlying cooperation, reciprocity, and fairness behavior on economic decisions and on the effect of both formal and informal incentives on effort and motivation in organizations. These projects build on laboratory and field experiments. |
